DMCA Policy - Castle
Castle
strictly adheres to the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and India's principal legislations, namely the Copyright Act 1957, Information Technology Act 2000, and IT Rules 2021, to protect the intellectual property rights and copyrights of content creators and copyright owners worldwide. This Takedown Policy outlines our simple procedures for submitting a complaint of copyright infringement and is designed to help maintain a safe and legal streaming environment for Indian users using our PC-compatible platform, Android APK, or any other compatible devices.
1. Copyright Infringement Takedown Notice Requirements
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that a copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please submit a takedown notice so we can process it. Your notice must include the following:
1. A brief summary of the copyrighted material, including the title, author, publication date (and any unique elements);
2. Specific information about where the infringing content is located on Castle (e.g., which section or subsection of the app it appears in ["Live Sports" or "K-Dramas"], the title of the specific content, or a direct link if available);
3. Your full name, home or business address, and current telephone number;
4. A statement (signed under penalty of perjury) confirming that all information provided is true, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner, and that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in question was not authorized by you, your agent, or the law;
5. Your signature (either handwritten or digital).
2. Notice Processing & Counter-Notice Procedure
All valid takedown notices are handled by our dedicated copyright compliance team, which specializes in these procedures and is well-versed in both domestic and international laws. We will acknowledge receipt of a complete notice within 48 business hours and initiate an investigation of your complaint. Under India’s IT Rules 2021, if we determine the complaint is valid, we will deny or restrict access to the infringing material within 72 hours of receiving the notice. The user who uploaded the content will be notified, and we will inform them that they may submit a counter-notice (provided it meets all requisite legal criteria) if they wish to challenge the claim.
3. Invalid Notices & Repeat Infringer Policy
Castle reserves the right to deny takedown notices that are inadequate, unclear, incorrect, false, and/or sent in bad faith (e.g., notices for content that is not infringing, without evidence of actual infringement). We also reserve the right to delete a user’s account without notice if a user persists in uploading illicit or infringing content. Please note that this policy applies solely to copyright claims. To report any other grievances (including concerns related to objectionable content or privacy), as per our Terms of Service, please contact our designated grievance officer through the in-app support section.
4. Policy Updates
Last Updated: January 19, 2026. From time to time, we may modify this DMCA Policy to accommodate changes in applicable laws, site policies, or upgrades in technology and platform features (such as new content offerings, new product offerings, or additional review categories). All material changes will be clearly indicated (including but not limited to an updated date) in the “Settings > Legal” section, as well as pushed to Indian users via in-app pop-ups. Your continued use of Castle more than 30 days after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
